Ian Gordon Spey

Partridge Spey lines create enjoyable, effortless and easy Spey casting. Designed by top ghillie and Spey casting champion Ian Gordon so that most of the line weight is held within the “D” Loop, providing maximum energy when loading the rod.

The longer front taper means that energy is transferred progressively and with less effort on the forward cast. A fine front taper means less friction on the water leading to faster line speed, along with better presentation.

The key to consistency when Spey casting is picking the same amount of line off the water every time. Colour changes in the line provide the angler with a reference point 5’ from the end of the head to give consistent casting.
