Step
2:
Tie in the oval gold tinsel where the tag will begin. Wind the tinsel forward as many turns as you wish. Leave both waste ends of the tinsel to be wrapped under the floss.
| |
Step
3:
Tie in the floss at the tail position. Wind it down to the tinsel and back.

Step
4:
Tie in the tail.
| |
Step

Step
6:
Tie in a chatterer feather, good side up, on top of the partridge. [Kingfisher may be substituted for the chatterer.]
| |
Step
7:
Tie in and wrap the butt.

Step 8:
At the middle point of the body tie in the oval gold tinsel then form an underbody for the tinsel portion of the body. White UTC 280 thread was used in the photograph.
Step 9:
Wrap the tinsel portion of the body.

Step 10:
The body veilings are the same brown partridge back feathers used for the tail veiling. Tie in one feather above the body and one below.
Step 11:
Tie in the tinsel ribbing and body hackle. The ribbing is tied in at the seven o'clock (looking from bend to eye) position; the hackle is tied in at the six o'clock position.

Step 12:
Dub the scarlet seal's fur body. When judging how much room to leave after the dubbing, remember that you may have to use a partridge tail feather for the throat. Partridge tail feathers have a thick stem.
Step 13:
Wind the ribs.
