Step
8:
Clip the sides to form the oval crab body shape. |
Step
9:
Insert
a length of crystal hair into a length of Larva lace as shown, about
15 cm long. When inserted cut the strip into 3 pieces.

| |

Step
10:
Tie
a knot about 1.5 cm from each end of each piece. This will not only
form the knee joints on the legs but will also hold the crystal hair
in position. |
| |
Step
11:
Turn
the hook up the right way again in the vice.
Place a small blob of melt glue in the center of the crab's body.

Step
12:
Then one set at a time, place on the legs. These may need an additional
drop of melt glue to hold them in place. |
Step
13:
While
the glue is still warm (after applying the last set of legs, quickly
remove the crab from the vice and press it (melt glue side down) onto
a sheet of glass or glazed tile, ( I have used a film box) assuming
the position that you would like the crab to take when fished.

Step
14:
When the glue has dried you can trim away any surplus that may
have come out of the sides. |
Step
15:
The
completed crab can now be marked with waterproof markers if wished.
