Flies
tied by Mikael Frödin

Mikael
Frödin about the Salar Flies:
To
put together a collection of Salmon flies seems a fairly simple
task.
First one must consider the waters to be fished. Then there is
a massive amount of other parameters that need to be taken into
consideration. It would be very easy to make a vast range of flies
to cover every eventuality. This does not make the choice of flies,
when on the bank, easy. When looking at this new range, I think
we have managed to produce a range that should cover most situations
fairly well. Ending up with 9 patterns on doubles and 9 on tubes
also makes fly selection easier on the bank These patterns cover
most of the conditions, from flooding rivers to sunshine and crystal
clear waters. Personally I feel comfortable with the selected
patterns. Some of my recommendations as to when to use a particular
pattern follow:

It has been a long, but interesting process to
teach the way I like my flies tied. Modern flies with soft, voluminous
tapered wings. We are using some of the technically best flytiers
available to make these. I have inspected their work, samples
and production flies and have been very impressed. On the materials
we are only using the best. The hooks are picked from the Salar
Range, first class hair, the latest in synthetics, even breed
Jungle Cock!
All
in all I think we have succeeded in presenting a high quality
full range of Salmon flies and tubes, tied in innovative Scandinavian
way!
