New PRO-Team Members July 2014

This month we welcomed three more members to our Partridge PRO-team!

To celebrate them joining we have introduced them below so you know who to look out for at fly fairs and the new faces that you'll be seeing and reading about in future blog posts!

Jon Strand joined the International PRO-team all the way from Oslo in Norway. He started tying flies in June 1979 supplying stores in his hometown and local area meaning he is a very experienced tier and gets to tie flies all year round! Jon received a Gold Medal for Classic Salmon flies at a Nordic Fly Tying Championship in 1986.

Last Friday one of Jon’s flies featured in the popular ‘Fly Friday’ post, which you can see by clicking here…

Gareth Lewis calls the beautiful and picturesque South Wales home and is a part-time fly fishing guide and professional qualified game angling instructor. Gareth caught the fly fishing bug when he was 10 years old and accompanied his father fly-fishing. He specialises in both small stream and main-stem river fly fishing techniques for wild trout and grayling.

Gareth recently wrote an interesting piece on his top 5 dry flies, which if you haven’t already, you can read about here…

Born and Bred near the banks of the river Clyde in Scotland Jim Lees started his fishing life 30 years ago and began tying flies at the same time. Jim’s main interest lies in the riverside insect life and in particular their life cycles and behaviours. Jim has demonstrated at fly tying fairs in Sweden, The Netherlands, Ireland and around the UK.

We are pleased to welcome Jon, Gareth and Jim to the Partridge PRO-team and look forward to the knowledge, insight and expertise that they will bring!
