Hi, I'm Jukka Tapio and I live in Finland small town called Rovaniemi. My hometown Rovaniemi lies right on the Arctic Circle . I've been tying flies since I was a small boy. I have come a long way in my tying, but there is still plenty left. Nowadays I tie mostly realistic fishing flies and art flies. I collect insects from rivers and measure their different body parts so that I can make more realistic flies. I also photograph insects so that I can see the insect's true colours, textures and then I can zoom in for a closer view to see the tiny details. I try to develop my fly tying all the time, solving problems I 'm facing keeps me tying and developing my techniques it seems like it never ends -- there is always something left.
